Capita plc acquired medical assessment and criminal justice support services firm, Reliance Secure Task Management (RSTM) in August 2012. RSTM provides forensic medical services, custody support and secure transport services to clients including the UK Border Agency, the Ministry of Justice, NHS trusts and UK police forces.
Capita document & information service (CDIS) did not acquire the Reliance brand name from the parent group, therefore the business needed to be rebranded Tascor – Capita’s public facing brand for the delivery of skilled professional medical and custodial support services. Capita had one month to rebrand the existing business documents and supporting collateral. Tascor is part of Capita's justice and secure services.
The items within the RSTM brand estate included:
- Information leaflet and posters
- Consent and assessment forms
- Medical records
- Detainee welfare booklets
- Staff guidance documents
- Vehicle livery
25% of the material that was to be rebranded also had to be available in a variety of languages including Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Kurdish, Pashto, Tamil and Urdu.
The original artwork for all the material was not available therefore all documentation was re-engineered by CDIS’s design team, in the first instance, using PDF and Word documents.
The documents that needed translation were given priority and working in partnership with Capita translation and interpreting all the documents were checked, changes were identified quickly and work was allocated accordingly.
For items such as the Standard Operating Procedures that compromised of over 100 documents, the bulk of the artwork was allocated to and delivered by a trusted partner. This freed up staff to concentrate on the more detailed elements of the project.
To guarantee the project was on target to meet the very tight deadline all parties maintained a project log that ensured progress and issues could be shared and resolved in a timely manner. This made certain that the time that would be taken to print and finish the documents was not affected.
The materials were delivered to the highest standard, with a new vibrant look and feel, within the tightest timeframe in January 2013.
CDIS's experience, expertise and in depth understanding of Capita’s corporate identity and tone of voice enabled the successful rebranding of RSTM to their new identity Tascor.
- New corporate brand identity
- New imagery and tone of voice
- Successful integration of Tascor into the Capita justice and secure services division
- Seamless route to print via in house print management service
- Template/artwork library to maintain any future changes
Flexible resources enable CDIS to deliver design solutions within a highly cost conscious environment. Design is at its most effective when it is part of a larger process integrated with the communications planning and production services offered by Capita document & information services.
